Buffered Magnesium Glycinate Bio-Max Series
Kirkman® presents Buffered Magnesium Glycinate® capsules in a hypoallergenic formulation for people with special requirements and sensitivities. Magnesium glycinate is a form of magnesium that’s gentler to digest and absorb than other forms of magnesium.
This product is also part of our Bio-Max Series that utilizations forms of nutrients that have been clinically demonstrated to be among the best absorbed and most highly bioavailable. Our capsules are buffered, which means that they are resistant to pH fluctuations when in solution, making them less reactive and less likely to irritate the GI tract. Increased absorption capability may also result.
Kirkman® employs magnesium glycinate exclusively from Albion® Labs, Inc. of Clearfied, Utah, a leader in the manufacture of mineral chelates. The product, also known as Albion® Magnesium Amino Acid Chelate, has been assessed as superior to additional forms of mineral salts in both animal and human bioavailabilty studies. The results of these studies are available from Kirkman® upon request.
The use and effectiveness of magnesium supplementation is well-documented. Magnesium is an essential mineral that’s required for numerous body functions, in addition to being a component of bones and teeth. It’s a crucial element of cellular metabolism and is an enzyme activator. Additional body actions include:
- Magnesium relaxes muscle contractions and nerve impulses.
- Magnesium promotes relaxation and restful sleep
Signs and symptoms of magnesium deficiency can include fatigue, heart disturbances, irritability, insomnia, mental confusion, loss of appetite, muscle spasms, or a feeling of weakness. The Physician’s Desk Reference for Nutritional Supplements says that recent information of inpatient and outpatient populations indicates that magnesium deficiencies could be found found in 12%-40% of people.
Magnesium supplements commonly have their origin as minerals that have been shaped by our environment. This is the primary reason the quality of magnesium raw materials is crucial. Magnesium, as is the case with calcium, can possess unwanted impurities. The obligation to guarantee the absence of lead and other heavy metals is the responsibility of the manufacturer. Kirkman® employs only the best forms of magnesium that have been essayed impurities and heavy metals.
There are a lot of different types of magnesium, and the Physician’s Desk Reference for Nutritional Supplements says that there’s no persuasive data showing absorption differences. There are reported differences in how different types of magnesium affect the GI tract, however. Below are a few guidelines, although individual outcomes may differ and should be talked over with your physician prior to administration:
- Citrate: tends to loosen stools
- Chloride: tends to loosen stools
- Glycinate: a very gentle form of magnesium that is easier on the system
- Oxide: tends to firm stools
- Sulfate: tends to loosen stools
