Carb-Digest with Isogest
Carb Digest™ with Isogest® is particularly formulated for people who find it hard to digest carbohydrates. It’s a great product that incorporates only disaccharidases and Kirkman’s proprietary Isogest® enzyme.
Kirkman® formulated Isogest® based on the work of R. Kushak, Ph.D. and T. Buie, M.D., of Massachusetts General Hospital. They analyzed and studied people with special requirements and sensitivities and ascertained that in their test group, 25-45% of their subjects had weak isomaltase/palatinase activity.
Our Isogest® formulation possesses the ability to break isomaltase into two molecules of glucose, and to break palatinose into one molecule of glucose and one molecule of fructose. The result of the inclusion of this new enzyme is an improved, more comprehensive carbohydrate digestion. Presently, no other enzyme product can provide this type of additional activity. Carb Digest™ with Isogest® may be of value to people on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet (SCD), because minor violations of this diet may be counteracted. Physicians and parents who assessed products incorporating Kirkman’s Isogest® described the following:
