DMG supports methylation, methionine metabolism, folate chemistry and is an immune system modulator. DMG is a non-protein amino acid found in plant and animal cells. The chemical structure of DMG is a glycine molecule holding onto two methyl groups. DMG is considered a "methyl bank" or "methyl donor". Inside the body, with the assistance of a coenzyme of riboflavin, DMG supplies methyl groups that attach to folic acid to form methylene tetrahydrofolate, a crucial ingredient of numerous biochemical processes in the body, including cellular perception and response. It’s involved in supporting healthy homocysteine levels as well.
